What is your favorite part about working with O’Pake?

My favorite part about O’Pake is the opportunity that I am given to work in HR internally and externally. I am able to learn and sharpen skills by working internally with O’Pake’s HR processes while also working externally with the HR processes of clients, which opens up an even more comprehensive range of skill sets. I am also given the opportunity to learn and practice my passion for social media management through the ECC.

What are your goals in the future?

Upon graduation, my future goals include obtaining my master’s degree in business administration at Alvernia University while being a Graduate Assistant at the O’Pake Institute. Upon completing my master’s, I plan to obtain a job in Human Resources, preferably in the south, and later get my SHRM Certification.

How will O’Pake help you reach these goals?

O’Pake will continue to help me reach these goals through the countless opportunities I am given every day. I have sharpened skills and learned an immense amount of new ones that will allow me to soar in my career. O’Pake has allowed me to grow from a Fellow to an Intern and a soon to be Graduate Assistant, which is preparing me for the real world after graduation.

What is your favorite memory at Alvernia?

My favorite memory at Alvernia is traveling to Chicago, Illinois, during my freshman year with a group of HR friends and one of my HR professors, who has become a lifelong friend and mentor. In Chicago, I had the opportunity to attend the National SHRM Conference while also having time to see the beautiful city. It is a memory I will never forget.

What made you decide to study at Alvernia?

Being recruited for field hockey and finding a University with a strong Human Resources program were strong deciding factors for me when choosing a school. During my first recruitment visit to Alvernia’s campus, I immediately fell in love with the campus, and I knew I had to call it home one day.

Who or what inspires you and why?

My brother and sister are the two people who inspire me the most in life. Being the youngest of three children, they both have paved the way for me to be successful in academics, sports, and everyday life. I would not be the person I am today if I didn’t have them as supporters and a sense of guidance when I need it.

What is a quote that you abide by?

“Daring to be successful in a male-dominated world, that is ambitious” – Meena Harris

What is something that someone would be surprised to learn about you?

People would be surprised to learn about my passion for social media and photography. I am not artistic, I have never had any photography jobs; I don’t even own a camera, but taking quality pictures and running social media accounts comes easy to me. It has been discovered as a secret talent and passion of mine.
